Italian Renaissance in Khao Yai (Part 1)

Destination: Palio Khao Yai
Location: Khao Yai National Park

I chanced upon an "Italian Village" in a magazine and I was absolutely bowled over by the existence of such a place, and smack in the middle of my favourite Khao Yai National Park too! Without further ado, I made the immediate decision to give the place a visit the following day, fully equipped with my weaponry of cameras (Yes yes, I usually bring more than just 1 camera).

Let's fast forward the chain of events to the next day:

After 2 hours of travelling on the road by car, I finally arrived at the first destination - Palio Khao Yai. The Italian setting against the backdrop of Khao Yai's lush tropical greenery, simply took my breath and swept my feet away.

The entrance to the Palio Italian Village is somewhat enchanting:

And when you step in.... absolutely charming and alluring:

Shops & Restaurants are organized into 12 zones, with fanciful names such as Dante, Da Vinci, Masaccio, Fibonacci. Palio boasts of about 130 shops, although some are still under renovation as the village was opened only not too long ago:

And there is a newly opened Palio Inn too. It would be a good idea to stay here for 1 or 2 nights to fully indulge yourself in a little Italian romance:

The delightful landscaping in Palio is pure eye candy:

Check out the little decorative details in Palio which I absolutely adore:

And the photo of the day goes to the sweetest little girl who posed for me and later asked to check the photo I took of her. She nodded and told me "Beautiful!". I just love her to bits:

Italian Renaissance in Khao Yai (Part 2) -  Primo Posto del Khao Yai will be coming right up! Return to Strolling in Thailand to complete the Italian experience!

'Kiccoro's Garden' is now 'Strolling in Thailand'

I have to apologize for not updating my blog for the longest time. Admittedly, I was distracted by other minute and irrelevant issues in life. Anyway, to start afresh, I have decided to carry out a major overhaul to my blog.

First, the name of the blog has been changed from 'Kiccoro's Garden' to 'Strolling in Thailand'. And accompanying this change, is the switch in content focus - from a gardening blog to a journal of my life experiences in Thailand. This will cover various aspects of the Thai way of life, including but not limited to, its people, culture, language, unique practices, interesting events and also places where the local people frequent so you can gain some insight into the real and 'authentic' side of this beautiful and colorful Kingdom, instead of the usual 'tourist' fanfare.

Stay tuned.
